How Lovely was that?

Today I went to town to take some stuff to the Charity shop, as part of my "62 for 62" challenge. I took the car instead of the bus because I had quite a lot of stuff and I reckoned that, as I was doing my bit for the environment by recycling this stuff, I could afford to use a bit of petrol!

So I finally managed to get rid of quite a lot of clothes that I'd been hanging on to for some strange reason (they'll never fit me again, even if I do lose weight!!)
I also got shot of some books and a set of glass sundae dishes that I didn't need.

After I'd emptied all my bags, I thought I would stay in town for some lunch, then go to the Library.

I don't often go to the Library now because I have hundreds of books at home and of course I have my Kindle but I wanted to see whether they had any Beginners Crochet Books.  So I wandered in and started to look around.

I found a few, as well as some interesting knitting books, so I took them to a desk and sat down to have a browse through them.

TWO HOURS LATER!!

The time had simply flown by! Once I'd come out of knitting and crochet world, I started to look around me. There were people of all ages sitting reading or talking (quietly of course!) or having a little snack (unheard of in my day...just not allowed!!) The sun was streaming through the windows and it was a real pleasure to just be able to sit there quietly, doing something you love.

How lovely is that? I'll be doing it again...soon.

Oh and I did find a couple of books that I hope are going to help me learn to crochet!

  1. I like that you 'got shot of' some books, etc.
Here in Texas we 'get shed of!' Pretty much the same thing. I loved the charity shops over there. Here I tend to call all of them 'Goodwill's' even though it may be a Salvation Army, Thrift STore, Re Sale Shop, DAV (Disabled American Veterans) ....I using just say 'I got it at Goodwill!'

    Sounds like you had THE.PERFECT.AFTERNOON!
